Girikon Inc. joins pledge 1% – a corporate philanthropy movement that is committed to treating the community as one of the key stakeholders. As one of the proud members of pledge 1%, we pledge to donate 1% of our profit, employee time, equity, product, etc. Through this venture, we strive to demonstrate our commitment to improving the communities around us.
Pledge 1% is a corporate philanthropy movement that is committed to supporting non-profit organizations operating within a community. This initiative to pledge a portion of your success in the form of business profits, employee time, etc. can go a long way in making a positive impact on the community you live and work in. In 2014, the three founding companies i.e. Salesforce, Atlassian, and Rally collaborated with the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado to promote their shared vision of integrating philanthropy into the DNA of every business entity across the globe. Pledge 1% went on to become a special initiative of ‘Tides’ – a global philanthropic organization in 2016.
Girikon collaborated with an NGO Human Touch Foundation and organized and sponsored an event on the 28th of May 2019 i.e. Menstrual Day in a Greater Noida village. The event was organized to create awareness among the women belonging to the economically backward communities regarding menstrual hygiene. A reputed gynecologist who presided over the event spoke at length about the stigma surrounding periods, and the significance of good menstrual hygiene for women. The event was concluded with free distribution of sanitary napkins and stationery items among women and children.
The COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the lives, as well as the livelihoods of people across the globe with people from the downtrodden community being affected the most. As an integral part of the community, we strive to fulfill our responsibility by giving back to the community we live and work in whatever possible way. We collaborated with Human Touch Foundation for a food distribution drive wherein we distributed food to the poor and needy.
We at Girikon, in collaboration with the Human Touch Foundation, celebrated Christmas with underprivileged children from economically disadvantaged communities. The event was marked with several fun-filled activities, along with the distribution of food and gift hampers. This event reflects our ongoing dedication to community service, reinforcing our commitment to make meaningful contributions to society.
Kwinana Early Years Services well known as KEYS is a not-for-profit organization that works towards the betterment of underprivileged children and their families residing in the city of Kwinana and Rockingham. Established in 1993, the organization has worked relentlessly to empower parents, caregivers, and the communities they live to improve the lives of their children. Offering multiple services for the upliftment and betterment of the children and their families, KEYS focuses primarily on positive parenting, child development, and quality education.
Bully Zero is a non-profit organization that works towards the prevention of all sorts of bullying happening all across the nation. Based in Australia, the organization delivers bullying and cyber safety programs at schools, sporting clubs, workplaces, and community groups to create cognizance regarding the ill effects of bullying and its impact on the mentality of young people. Set-up in 2012 by a group of like-minded individuals, Bully Zero delivers bullying programs that are based on empirical evidence. Bully Zero enjoys recognition from WorkSafe Victoria and the office of the eSafety Commissioner.
The Australian Jazz Museum better known as AJM is an entity that works towards the preservation of the jazz heritage of Australia. The organization focuses on collecting all types of concert materials, videos, memoirs, books, etc. followed by archiving and disseminating them to make them accessible to donors, musicians, and collectors based across Australia. The mission of the museum is to inspire the new generation of Jazz musicians to make their contribution and make it a heritage for the generations to come. It is the constant efforts of the volunteers, donors, and members of AJM that have made this museum grow continuously and a perfect haven for jazz enthusiasts.
1Mission is a community development organization that works towards the betterment and upliftment of underprivileged people. The organization works to help poverty-stricken people earn a house by inspiring them to serve the community they live in.
