The Pledge 1% is a corporate philanthropy movement that encourages organizations and entrepreneurs to create a positive impact on the communities they live and work in by pledging a small amount of their future success in form of profits, employee time, etc. With this, organizations strive to make a meaningful commitment to the society. In 2014, the founding partners of Pledge 1% decided to collaborate with the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado to promote the shared vision of all businesses to integrate philanthropy into their DNA. In 2016, the pledge 1% initiative went on to become an interesting initiative of ‘Tides’– a global philanthropic organization.

Equipped with the desire to make a difference, a group of passionate individuals joined forces in 2012 to create Bully Zero.
In 2009, prior to forming Bully Zero, Ali Halkic’s son Allem tragically fell victim to cyber-bullying. Through the determination of not wanting the same fate for another child, Ali successfully lobbied the Victorian State Government in erecting barriers along the Westgate Bridge in Melbourne—preventing hundreds of suicides as a result. Ali’s determination for change is carried through in his work as director of Bully Zero.
To this day, Bully Zero is the only bullying prevention organisation in Australia that delivers face-to-face programs by qualified teachers.
These programs include cyber safety and bullying prevention programs that are delivered nationwide to schools, community groups, sporting clubs and workplaces.
Bully Zero has delivered these programs to over 400,000 parents, children and teachers, received endorsements by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner and WorkSafe Victoria.
The Australian Jazz Museum (AJM) mission is to Proactively Collect, Archive and Disseminate Australian Jazz.
Proactively Collecting – we collect anything to do with Australian jazz, with special attention given to saving rare recordings on fragile media such as tape or acetate.
Sure, AJM’s collection includes thousands of jazz recordings from overseas, since no music can exist in a vacuum. But the AJM mainly collects Australian jazz: recordings, videos, concert materials, festival materials, memoirs, posters, books, etc. everything related to Australian jazz, Australians playing jazz elsewhere in the world, and non-Australians playing jazz in Australia. The collection includes Australian jazz materials from the 1920s through to the present, covering all jazz eras and all types of jazz. Our collection continues to grow thanks to generous donations of both older and current materials. If you have some current or older jazz recordings or materials that you would like to donate, we would love to add them to the collection!
